August 13, 2013 I was having dinner with friends in Waterloo preparing to leave when it began to rain. The trickle quickly became a torrential downpour on a scale the region had not seen for quite some time.
As the power went out and rain began to fall sideways, I stood outside capturing images. I had my Fuji X100s on me, not the most waterproof camera, but I worked under the camera's constraints as best I could.
Soaked but satisfied I walked away with 5 images I really liked.
I have a new business card in the works and looking for feedback. After looking around I have decided to go with the card company Moo using their mini card size. If you haven't heard of them head on over and have a look. They have pretty competitive pricing and some different options outside of the common business card shapes and sizes.
Outside of having a non traditional size I plan to use a heavier card stock to give it some weight and raised font if I can afford it to make the card stand out. After some help from a friend I was able to identify the type of font on the front page of this website (varela round if you happen to be interested) so the card matches perfectly.
Or does it? I've decided to go with simplicity over a complex design or having an image but what do you think? Am I wrong, does it need a splash of colour or an B&W image?
Appreciate any feedback.

Words fail me. A simple thank you seems so little though every veteran I have ever met has said it is more than enough, too much even. Their modesty is astounding.

One Saturday evening this past winter my friend Colin asked if I wanted to come to his older brother's birthday party (he was turning 33). Being an overprotective cat dad I'm compelled to buy the most healthy food I can afford as well as purchase many, many toys my cat will never play with. After failed ringie balls, shit on a string and bouncy crinkly stuff toys, I have discovered Edie enjoys catnip stuffed animals the best. Go figure.

Okay lame title, apologies, but I am really loving this Fuji x100s. Day 2 has proven to be just as fulfilling as the hair cutting adventure last evening.
Helping out with video shoot today I saw an opportunity to test out the macro function of the camera in an interesting way. While between takes I was switching lenses and saw the reflection of Dr. Terry Copp perfectly refracted in front of me. X100 already around my neck (obviously), there was no other option but give it a shot.
This image is shot through a Canon 70-200 f2.8 dialed to 200 with the Fuji x100s set to macro and f4 1/60 ISO 2000.
The sharpness really blows my mind and makes me really excited for future shoots exclusively with this camera.
