I think my favourite things about being an adult is the ability to actually make your cool ideas happen. One Saturday evening this past winter my friend Colin asked if I wanted to come to his older brother's birthday party (he was turning 33). When he explained it was to be a Nerf gun war, hosted in an elementary school gym, with a smoke machine, lasers and pizza, well I couldn't possibly say no.
Now I actually didn't bring any cameras with me purposely. I though I would put them down for an evening and just enjoy myself. Besides if I changed my mind I still had my phone. However once things got going I REALLY regretted not bringing something with a little more versatility.
Thankfully, Colin's brother is also a photographer and had his 5D MK iii there with a 70-200 f2.8. So when I started to feel worn out I became a war photographer.
The end result was a pretty cool mixture between the different types of cameras.
Enjoy.
