There isn't a lot of room for foot traffic in Toronto to begin with, so add a bike 'parked' for maximum inconvenience on Yonge Street and you have a recipe for a ridiculous situation.
I eventually learned the owner was getting lunch (I shot for a good 10 min before he came back out), and what baffled me most was why the bike wasn't parked more visibly, like up against the shop window? The owner would have had a better view and the bike would have barely bothered pedestrians.
Regardless it was interesting to observe groups of Torontonians as they collided in the narrow corridor the bike created.
Most didn't make eye contact, opting to advance at the same time and awkwardly brush past each other.
