"A runner was perfect as I was looking to catch motion, and I knew I wanted to use the light from the hot dog stand to separate my subject but was nervous that the person would be too tall."

While on my way somewhere the other day, I swung by Nathan Philips Square to see the Ai Weiwei sculpture 'forever bicycles'. Its a rather impressive in every way possible and I'm sad I didn't have more time to contemplate its meaning.
During my quick visit I grabbed this image of a man wandering through the sculpture and couldn't help being reminded of The Matrix.
Russian Roulette: Ordinary made Extraordinary
"Last summer I picked up my first rangefinder. I got a Fed-3 and a 50mm 2.0 lens for 100$ from the Ukraine. As luck would have it it actually works! Due to Soviet era mass production the standards were pretty low when it came to something like the Fed line of cameras."

Last month I went to Wasaga Beach for the first time with some friends. On the way back to the 400 a yell rose from the front seat, "There it is! I told you I saw a crazy tree covered in shoes!"
Sure enough on the side of Crossland Road just outside Wasaga there is an enormous tree covered in shoes. Sneakers, work boots, skate shoes and even tinfoil kicks blanket the birch (I think...) tree.
Footwear covers the trunk and most branches as well as some adjoining small trees. A bed of shoes surround the base of the tree as if some odd orthopaedic version of fall is always occurring. But why?
A search for Wasaga shoe tree only uncovers one YouTube video that asks the same questions.
Why? The answer seems to be why not?

Street Shots: Plane Perspective
Yesterday I was in Mississauga looking up at the Absolute or 'Marilyn Monroe' towers thinking, "should I take an image?" From where I was standing I liked the shape and form of the tower; it reminded me of a robotic elephant trunk.
But was it an interesting image?
I didn't really think so.
Looking away for a moment I decided to give it one more consideration and saw a plane about to pass over. I quickly grabbed a frame.
I like how the plane offers perspective. Thats really it, otherwise it would be kind of a dull image.
