When I hopped off the streetcar to grab an image of the BELLSD phone booths I had hopes I could get a human in the frame as well.
But it didn't seem likely at first.
To frame the booths properly I had to walk out into the middle of St. Clair Avenue, a fairly well traveled vein of the city any time of the day. Having a close call with a taxi that appeared during a practice shot, I didn't have much hope the traffic would part the way I needed when and if a person come along. But I decided it was better to wait and try than walk away empty handed.
A few minutes of patience and I was rewarded with a man slowly plodding in my direction. Now if only the traffic gods would align, I might get what I had envisioned.
As luck would have it my slow subject crossed my lens just as the lights 50 meters away turned green.
