Today I went on a walking adventure to interact with more than two cats and keep from going insane. On my journey I ended up at some crazy place. Go figure.
Simply named 'Buy & Sell' the store presented the veneer of a swap shop on the exterior. However the interior was a prime example of hoarding at its best. Piles and piles of stuff had over time become just one giant snowdrift of things, leaving one thin junk corridor as the only way to travel through the store.
With no order, save for rare scatterings of books piled too high on top of various shelving units, it was impossible to navigate and search for any specific type of item.
It was possible to see that there had once been other paths carved through the 'drift' but over time and the gradual erosion of free space, they had become blocked off.
Isolated valley's of things unreachable by the human arm.
I came off the subway into a steady rain and noticed a pair of similarly dressed children dwarfed by large colourful umbrellas.
Originally I started taking images as I walked behind them because of the colours but then the boy on the left began to goof around poking the other boy. He was ignored at first but eventually they both got into it and I got this fun shot of the smaller boy on the left preparing to perry the other boys playful attack.
Just kids being kids.
I actually really liked this lady's hair. It looked like a pineapple or some strange desert flower.
The horizontal striped lines of her denim jacket kinda brought it all together for me.
Caught this little fellow on his way somewhere a few months ago.
I only got one frame as he took off so I was very fortunate to catch an image with his wings perfectly unfurled. Or her wings as the case may be...
I always love juxtapositions. Undeterred by the busy crammed rush hour traffic, a commuter enjoys a television show on his ride home. Beside him a young woman plays a game on her smartphone.
Neither acknowledged the other as they both were engrossed in their various forms of technology the entire ride.
